With the official Launch of Square One’s 2016 Fall/Winter Campaign video, I GOT YOU BABE featuring Sean Avery and Hilary Rhoda, our guests were encouraged to upload a photo with a loved one to share it on social media for a chance to win a luxe experience. Our lucky winners shared intimate tales about finding each other, what they think of their loved one, and what it means to love.

Jam and Alek

Jahmeelah + Alek

It's so weird to believe that Alek and I are coming up on our 2nd wedding anniversary. 2 years?! When did that happen? We met 3 years ago and I went from hesitant to head over heels. What makes Alek so special to me is how supportive he is of my career and my dreams. He's my photographer, website developer, barber (weekly fresh fades!), and my sound board. ❤ When I feel worried or doubtful, he pulls my ego right back up and reminds me that I got this just like everything else. I LOVE his smile, how he makes up his own words when he doesn't know lyrics, that he makes my coffee and crepes without hesitation, and how proud he looks when he's holding my hand. He's the definition of a great husband.

Sumita and Sumit

Sumita + Sumit

We used to believe that lovers who chose the long-distance relationships route were just setting themselves up for doom. Especially, an international long distance relationship between Mumbai and Toronto meant a significant time difference and definitely its own set of obstacles. But pretty soon we realized that we like each other too much to not give it a shot. While skeptical at first, being apart was not only doable, but it helped us both cherish our relationship even more. Whether it was three months or three years, in our case distance gave us a reason to love harder. And then one day, he flew down to India, held me in his arms and said, I don’t want to spend the rest of my life texting, emailing, whatsapping and seeing you on Skype. I want to hold you, touch you and hear you say my name in the same space and the same time zone. And since then we are living our happily ever after in Canada :) For everyone who is away from their loved one, as long as you’re in their heart and they are in yours, there is no distance.

Rachel and Colin

Rachel + Colin

I’ve always felt that a sign of a strong relationship is when you can have the most fun doing the simplest of activities together. After being together for over a decade, this is still true of Colin and me.

Becky, Stephanie, and Jennifer Lau

Becky, Stephanie, and Jennifer Lau

I enjoy everyday events with my daughters. Simple moments like grabbing a coffee or going to the mall are treasured. I recall when Jennifer and Stephanie were dependent, in a stroller and only able to smile or cry. Now they are creating impact in their sectors and in their personal lives. I feel so blessed to have raised two compassionate and loving individuals.

Colleen and John

Colleen and John

John and I met 10 years ago. It was an unusually hot May evening (it was over 25˚C) and I had just finished coaching my first girls U-6 soccer game. What makes our meeting remarkable is that we lived roughly 2 blocks apart for ten years before we met! His smile still melts my heart.

Kannesha and Bala

Kannesha and Bala

Being the youngest child in my family, I was used to always getting my way. Being in a relationship, however, is all about compromise, being selfless, and sometimes giving in—even when you know you are right! I didn’t know how to do any of that, especially compromise, when I first met Bala. Now I like to think that I do and I became a selfless girlfriend because I watched Bala be selfless with me. He always loved me unconditionally. So I think I learnt to love Bala by watching him love me so perfectly.

Eleni and Kamiran

Eleni + Kamiran

Kamiran and I are like night and day when it comes to our personalities—complete opposites. Even though we are different, our relationship has worked all these years because we share the same values on things that matter the most in a relationship and are the closest to our hearts. We are each other’s Yin and Yang.
