The Pie Commission

After searching high and low for good savoury meat pies in the GTA, long-time pals Patrick and Mike decided to make some themselves and they were kind enough to share. That was 2013, and now The Pie Commission boasts three locations and legions of devoted fans, who are hooked on the chains flaky all-butter pastry and wholesome ingredients. The Pie Commission specializes in individual-sized (5-inch) pies in mouth-watering flavours that range from Beef in Beer to Butter Chicken, and if you want a legit Brit-inspired experience, you’ll opt for a side of chips (fries). There’s also a rotating selection of seasonal dessert pies like Fruit Crumble and Coconut to satisfy your sweet tooth.

The District Kitchen

At The District Kitchen, we’re creating a holistic food experience whereby each class is fun, educational and delicious. By providing adults and kids the opportunity to cook, create, eat and shop under one roof, The District Kitchen is a distinctively different culinary destination.

Pier 87

Top quality, sustainable seafood is Pier 87’s raison d’être.

They work directly with fishing companies to ensure that the best possible product reaches your fork. Speaking of which, at this modern fish market, you can shop for fresh or frozen seafood to go or take a seat and chow down on some tasty eats.

A humble suggestion: Nothing completes a long day of shopping like a plate of freshly shucked oysters! Lobster Rolls (made with Nova Scotia lobster), Poké Bowls, and Calamari Fries are just a few of the other highlights on this crowd-pleasing menu.

The Macaron Boutique

As the name says, this is the destination for picture-perfect (and insanely tasty) French macarons. Owners Anne and Mark keep it simple by focusing solely on their namesake product, and constantly experimenting with premium ingredients to create the best handcrafted macarons possible. Even though they offer more than 30 different flavours, they’re frequently adding new ones to the line-up, so it pays to drop by often! Whether you’re into the classics (vanilla, caramel, dark chocolate) or looking for something a little outside the box (orange blossom, earl grey, or jasmine grapefruit with mango), you’re sure to find your favourite flavour.

Farzi Café

Farzi Café aims to bring Indian cuisine back “in-Vogue”. “Farzi” can have many connotations, but at Farzi Café, it has just one, “creating an illusion” with its cuisine. Best described as a gourmet experience, it amalgamates traditional global and Indian classics, with Indian influences, contemporary presentations, culinary styles and ambiance. It is a quirky, chic, modern Indian café, where guests enjoy a sensory experience through the finest modern Indian cuisine, with a high energy ambiance. Infusing a generous dose of Indian flavours, Farzi Café presents Indian cuisine where culinary art
meets the alchemy of modern presentations and cooking techniques like molecular gastronomy to absorb the guest into the ultimate gastronomic illusion.

Dal Moros Fresh Pasta To Go

Founder Gabriele Dal Moro comes from seven generations of chefs in Venice, Italy, so you know this pasta is the real deal. Authentic, fresh, and traditional recipe pasta dishes are made from scratch on-site and start at only $8. With seven varieties of pasta (like spaghetti, rigatoni, and gnocchi) and 12 different sauces (including Bolognese, Pesto, and Alfredo) to choose from, not to mention the extra toppings (diced olives, anyone?), you can experiment to your heart’s content until you find your favourite combo. Let the carb-loading begin!

Blossom Moments

If you need a last-minute hostess gift or just a little pick-me-up for yourself, Blossom Moments is your one-stop shop for gorgeous bouquets. A love of flowers inspired founder Natalia to quit her corporate job and start Blossom Moments. She values quality and freshness, as well as elegant wrapping (every bouquet at Blossom Moments is dressed in style); and she has a particular weakness for lush flowers like peonies, ranunculuses, anemones, and garden roses. Natalia is also known for feminine accents, such as succulents potted in vintage tea cups and fragrant bunches of French lavender.

Blackjack BBQ

It’s always barbecue season! Bring an appetite (and possibly some wet wipes!), and dig in to the Sweet Whiskey Pork Ribs or the Dinosaur Beef Ribs (not for the faint of heart). And for non-meat eaters, there are even vegan “ribs,” made from grilled organic tempeh, smothered in balsamic and garlic BBQ sauce. Other Southern-inspired dishes include Buttermilk Fried Chicken, BJ’s Backyard Brisket Burger, and the Pulled Shortrib Sandwich. If you’re smart—and hungry—you’ll also order some delicious sides: choose from cheddar and broccoli slaw, smashed potatoes, pork and beans, and more. Is your mouth watering yet?

Village Juicery

Village Juicery was founded by nutritionists, so their signature cold-pressed juices taste good and are good for you. Plus, they’re certified organic and made fresh daily.
Fan faves include Be Nourished (a great green juice for beginners that contains apple, cucumber, and swiss chard), Be Active (a combo of beet, pear, apple, ginger, and lemon) and Be Radiant (carrot, sweet potato, lemon, apple, and turmeric).
The Village Juicery’s various “booster shots” are also extremely popular and sure to help cure whatever ails you, whether it’s a lingering cold or an upset stomach.

Donut Hive

These decadent donuts are unlike anything you’ve seen at your local coffee shop. First of all, they’re hexagon (yes, hexagon). Secondly, they’re beautiful—adorned with chocolate drizzle, dried fruit, and even edible flakes of silver. Each donut is unique and handmade, with only the finest ingredients, such as Callebaut chocolate. Special care has been devoted to the creamy fillings (without additives and food colouring) and the jams (homemade and preservative-free). You could almost say these donuts are good for you! The flavours change seasonally, but some highlights are Raspberry Pistachio, Flower (featuring lavender cream), and Chili Chocolate.
